It has become a common site at malls everywhere to see 40 year old women wearing very young clothing styles from stores like Forever 21 and Wet Seal, including items like tight tank tops, low-rise jeans, plastic bangles and metallic platform heels. Older women who are in great shape can still pull off this look, but the question is should they. According to celebrity stylist Ricci DeMartino, the answer is definitely not.

He says it makes it look like you're trying too hard to look young, and it comes off as overcompensating. One of the items that looks best on young people, for example, is the message T-shirt. These become popular a few years ago, fueled by young Hollywood trendsetters, but proclaiming to the world that "Your Boyfriend Thinks I'm Hot" on your T-shirt, for example, comes across as more than a little immature and desperate.
